LESLEY is originally from Lincoln and studied dance at the Kilburn College. After graduating she performed in several West End musicals before heading for France to join Le Moulin Rouge. France became Lesley’s home for the next twenty years and her performing career lead her to work regularly for many european TV productions companies. She sang as part of the groups Magazine 60 and Magazine 80 and went on to run her own production company “Show Lesley Kaye”. Lesley has been show director for several luxury cruiseline companies. More recently she has turned her attention to teaching in the community: guest choreographer for performance arts students at Huddersfield New College and chair-based classes for the elderly with Kirklees Council.
SIMON took tap dancing lessons as a child in his home town of Rotherham and pursued his love of dance at the Laban Centre in London where he gained a BA(Hons) degree in Dance Theatre. His first job was in France where he worked for 15 years as a dancer, gracing the stages of Le Moulin Rouge and the Lido, alongside the Bluebell Girls. He also worked with smaller revue shows and had the pleasure of dancing in many countries around the world. Parallel to dance, Simon has a keen interest in music-making and co-composed the musical Etats d’Ame. His performance exploits include puppeteering at Disneyland, Paris and cast member of the award winning “Singin’ in the Rain” at Théâtre de la Porte St Martin in Paris.
Over the following ten years video-editing became Simon’s principal occupation, essentially working for corporate clients. More recent events have brought Simon into close contact with the care home environment following his mother’s diagnosis with Lewy Body Dementia. This awakening gave birth to The Eldertainers and a commitment to bringing fresh, interactive and stimulating ideas into care home entertainment.
